Ana Kasparian — US Pilot Explains Iranian Drone SWARM

We're now learning about what the US pilot whose F-15 was downed in Iran back in April was allegedly experiencing before the aircraft was downed. It turns out that he claims it was swarmed by an Iranian drone in the formation of a jellyfish. Now, this has sparked a bit of a debate among the intelligence community because of the fact that he was injured as a result of that whole operation, that whole situation, which by the way we still don't know the details about what kind of operation was being carried out. Why was he in the middle of Iran? Um but luckily, he he survived. He was rescued by our military. Um but here's what we know. Uh the US fighter jet pilot described multiple Iranian drones hovering in the air moving as one in a formation that resembled a jellyfish, according to four sources familiar with the matter. This is reported by CNN. Now, the account again was uh shared by the F-15 pilot himself. One of CNN's sources on the matter said that if the airman really saw what he described, this is going to be a problem for the United States and especially for Israel because it indicates that Iran's drone technology is far more advanced than even our intelligence community knew about. Um multiple drones interconnected and moving as one with smaller drones below the bigger drones like legs. "Real alien crap," this person said. Another source told CNN the pilot described witnessing a minefield of drones in the air. But some question the pilot's account, as I mentioned earlier. So, US intelligence officials disagreed on how to interpret what the F-15 pilot described and whether the pilot could recount the incident clearly. For one thing, he was concussed in the crash. It was his second time being shot out of the sky during the Iran war. He had also been among the pilots downed in a friendly fire incident in Kuwait uh by Kuwaiti forces uh earlier in the conflict. Uh and that's according to two of the sources who spoke to CNN. I just I just look, this is one soldier who apparently has been injured now twice in two very scary incidents. And this is all for a war that's being fought on behalf of Israel. Like, what are we doing? >> Yeah. So, um we got to go find uh Wesley Clark Jr. saying this on The Young Turks over a decade ago because man, did he nail it. Uh so, we were doing a show. Might have even been Old School, which is a member show that we have. Good reason to sign up for membership. Uh and he said, "You know, all of our giant military is kind of a waste." He's the son of General Wesley Clark. And he was on the uh Young Turks for a long time. And uh and he said, "You know, the Chinese," he said back then, based on my recollection, "we just sent a hundred drones up there. And then, what are you going to do with your plane? They They're They're so cheap and our planes are so expensive, you throw a hundred drones up there and it's just going to get stuck in, you know, the and just hit the plane by accident, let alone the design, etc." >> Yeah, yeah. In fact, we saw that play out uh through the kinetic warfare that was going on between the United States and Iran. What Iran would do is deploy its drones, which are again very cheap to make. They knew that the US and Israel were running out of missile interceptors. And so, we would have to utilize extremely expensive and difficult to make. They're They take a lot of time to make. interceptors to take out a super cheap drone that the Iranians like put out there. Like, it's amazing. Yeah. >> so, and and Wesley was right. I mean, they they uh now the it's Forget the Chinese. The Hezbollah has evened the playing field in Israel. >> Yes. >> Uh at least in Lebanon they have, right? And that's with Israel having nukes and Iron Dome and a giant military, right? And even so, $200 drones are making a difference here. So, look, my great hope is that it makes the giant armies that are invading other people's countries a little hesitant to do that, cuz I'm for peace and I don't want any of this war. I don't want anybody getting hurt. So, and Anna, you made a point earlier in the show, you know, you said, "This isn't Gaza." uh referring to how Hezbollah can fight back in Lebanon. Gives you a sense. You remember as they're slaughtering Gaza, they said, "We had to do it because of how dangerous the people in Gaza are." They couldn't put together one drone. The Ukrainians did endless drones. Now in Lebanon they're doing endless drones. The Palestinians didn't have enough money or material for a single drone. They were the most defenseless people on Earth and Israel slaughtered them. >> I saw videos of how Hamas was fighting back against IDF troops. Um they would find unexploded ordinances and ambush IDF tanks with them. That's how they would do it. >> With their own uh Israeli ordinances. >> would attack Israelis with their own unexploded ordinances. Yes. >> Well, that's obviously anti-Semitic. >> No, uh that's what you do when um an invading military is slaughtering your people and committing genocide. >> You know, they uh kidnapped an American kid, 15-year-old Muhammad Ibrahim, put him into one of their gulags, he nearly died. Uh and what was his offense? Looking at another Palestinian boy throw a rock. That that's that's such a big threat to Israel's existence. >> disgusting. They're so disgusting. >> They make me sick. >> scabies, he lost 30 lb and nearly died. He's American kid. Uh Senator Van Holland did heroic work there to barely get him out of that torture uh uh >> The Israeli people could only dream of living up to what the Palestinians are. Resilient, kind people. That's what the Palestinians are. The Israelis though, modern-day Nazis. Modern-day Nazis, read the UN report. Disgusting. The Justice Department just said it's stopping work on a nearly $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund after a judge's ruling. And depending on where you get your news, that story gets framed in two completely different ways. On the left, one outlet basically calls it what it is, a slush fund that may finally be on its way out. On the right, Fox and others frame it as the administration backing off of a controversial fund [music] to help clear the way for a stalled Republican immigration bill. Sure, buddy. Sure.
