Brett Cooper — I USED To Think Jennifer Newsom Was Fabulous

So, Gavin Newsom's wife, or I guess I should say Gavin Newsom's first partner, the first partner of California, she has been all over the internet last week and people are speculating that if anything is going to stop the United States from having a President Newsom, it is going to be her. And this is not like a Michelle Obama situation where she feels like she should have been the president and she just like hates her husband.

No, this is because Jennifer Siebel Newsom is just too crazy, is too progressive and let me tell you guys it ain't pretty. Somebody said behind every beta male is a controlling insane liberal wife. Many such cases. But guys, this is the kicker. This is why I needed to do this episode. About 9 years ago, if I'm being real, I was obsessed with Jennifer Siebel Newsom. In fact, I even knew her. Now, knowing X and the climate on X right now, this might lead to allegations of me being some kind of industry plant. She's always been a feminist, whatever it is, but I think it'll be funny. I will enjoy telling you the story. So, look at this photo. That is me. Terrible lighting, terrible wind in the hair. Whenever like models do photo shoots and they have wind in the hair, it never actually looks like that when a normal person does it.

So, yeah, there's the San Francisco breeze running through my hair. That is me with the first partner of California, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, again at 15 years old. And to make it even better, here's another photo of us. Here she is interviewing me on stage. You can see my photo here, there's my name. I know, I know, I know. Never going to escape the allegations. But guys, it gets even better. It really does because I was invited to this event with Jennifer that I will tell you about in a few seconds because as a high schooler, as a teenager, I was involved with Hillary Clinton's female empowerment organization.

Yes, you heard that correctly. Cue the manosphere melting down about my past transgressions. Anyway, all right, so story time. When I was I think 14 years old, based on my timeline, I was a sophomore, maybe junior in high school. I know that that will sound crazy. I graduated early. Anyway, I was involved in an organization called Ann Power. And Ann Power was this initiative that was put together by Ann Inc. So, that's the company that owns Ann Taylor, Loft, all of the women clothing brands, that sort of thing.

And an organization called the Vital Voices Global Partnership, which was in fact Hillary Clinton's women's leadership organization. She founded it back in the '90s with Madeleine Albright. They do a ton of work here in the United States, but primarily abroad empowering female leaders from all of these different underdeveloped countries to start different programs to help bolster their communities. It was a great program when I was involved in it.

Again, I cannot endorse or know what they are doing now, but at the time, I had a really great experience. And Ann Power was a high school program and every year they went out to find the top 50 female leaders in high school in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. And in the 2016 year, I was one of the young women that was selected. And through that program, they flew you to New York City and you met with all of these different entrepreneurs and people who worked in social entrepreneurship, so in the nonprofit space, in corporate America.

They gave us training in public speaking and how to put together business pitches. And they had classes on applying for colleges. And let me tell you, I loved it. I ate it up. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. And I was super in that world at the time. Like the reason why I was chosen was because in late elementary school, middle school, I had an after-school program that I created and ran where I worked with members of my hometown's like underprivileged community.

Most of them were immigrants. I worked with them and taught theater arts and improv to these young kids, my own peers. They were around my age and I used improv and theater arts as a way to boost confidence and create community and help their language skills. To make this even worse, guys, I know I'm like talking about Jennifer Newsom, Hillary Clinton, Disney. Disney gave me money to do this program. I won a Disney grant for this after-school program that I put together and ran.

I wrote plays that the kids would put on. It was so much fun. So, I did that for many years. And then as a high schooler, as you guys probably know if you've watched my show for a while, I got really, really involved in what self-defense against sexual assault. That's when I was living in Los Angeles. And so, I started traveling around with my instructor and we would teach at various, you know, high schools and women's organizations.

And so, because of those two things, I was super, super involved in social entrepreneurship. At the time, I thought I might want to end up doing that as a career, working in this kind of nonprofit advocacy space. I I guess sort of I am with this channel, like talking about social issues. But anyway, that is why I was chosen. So, I did that program summer of 2016. And then after that initial Ann Power program, the same organization, Ann Inc and Vital Voices, invited me and a few others from different classes back to their annual Vital Voices Leadership Retreat with the adult women from Vital Voices.

And it concluded this whole like fall summit that we did. It concluded with us doing a panel at an event called the Worldwide Women's Girls Festival. It was moderated by none other than first partner Newsom. So, that is my very long-winded story of how as a young person, I was involved with Disney and Hillary Clinton and Jennifer Siebel Newsom. So, go crazy, X. Have fun with that. I was going online trying to see if there were any pictures or videos from that event.

I could not find any, but randomly when I was on YouTube, apparently I'm the thumbnail for one of the promos for this Girls Festival. I clicked on this. I was like, "Oh my gosh, is this like us talking with her?" No, I don't know why they chose to use this photo. Terrible angle, does not look cute whatsoever. But yeah, there's me on stage. Again, don't worry how I looked. I'm not speaking in that video, so there's nothing interesting there for you guys to see.

But anyway, that is my past with good old Jennifer Siebel Newsom. And if we are being even more transparent here, that was like one of the greatest times of my life. You know, my involvement in all of these like female empowerment things, it was so pure. Like I genuinely believed in feminism and girl power and all of the things and I had not seen the underbelly of it or the political implications of it. And when I got older, I was like, "OH MY GOSH, WHAT HAVE I been involved in?"

But I genuinely loved it and it really did help with my confidence, public speaking, all of these things. And to really like tie it all together, like I thought at the time at 15 years old, Jennifer Siebel Newsom was like the cat's pajamas, the bee's knees, whatever. I don't even know. I thought she was fabulous is what I'm trying to say. After this event, I even reached out to her. I wrote her a letter asking if I could shadow her, be an intern, work with her production company because I really liked her documentaries, which were of course about sexism and feminism, all of the things.

Oh my gosh, how times have changed. But I will say, the only thing that has not changed is the fact that I am still cheering on Jennifer Siebel Newsom, but for very different reasons. Because what's happening right now online, the reason why I am talking about her in the first place is because all of these old videos of her are starting to circulate, especially on X, and they are all coming out after Gavin Newsom. Poor Gavin Newsom has spent the last year and a half trying to moderate out his image.

Essentially going on record saying whatever will help him appease a wide swath of American voters so that he could be the Democrat nominee in 2028. But then, then comes along his beloved wife Jennifer blabbering her mouth and people are reminded what values this family actually have and she might be the thing that keeps them from getting to the White House. So, yes, Jennifer, keep on going. Anyway, let's just watch some of these clips.

The first of which is very recent and it's actually her reaction to President Trump firing Kirstjen Nielsen and Pam Bondi. And you might think, "Brett, why do we care about that?" Obviously, she's thrilled. We know she's thrilled. She's a left-wing woman. Obviously, she wants these women to be fired. But no, she's actually angry because of feminism. Just watch. I'm not a fan of Pam Bondi nor Kirstjen Nielsen. But I need to call out that it's no surprise to me that the first two prominent people pushed out of this administration are women.

Let me explain. The conservative women that Trump handpicks, who align themselves with an agenda that controls women, restricting our rights, limiting our autonomy, and pushing us back into this straightjacket of femininity that is only in service of men, there's a familiar pattern here. Women are brought in packaged Mar-a-Lago commit to wholeheartedly serve the interests of the patriarchy at the top. Okay, I just have to stop.

She goes on now for another minute and a half about how this is also patriarchal, it is so toxic. These women were chewed up and spat out by Donald Trump. But the most glaring part of this entire video is her saying that Donald Trump is taking us back to the era of the straightjacket of femininity. That's what she believes, that being feminine, embracing more traditional values, embracing femininity versus her like hustle boss babe first partner of California energy, means that you are in a straightjacket.

That is her version of feminism. Not equality for all women to flourish and, you know, pursue things that they are interested in, have the freedom to choose to get married, choose to have kids, choose to have a job, whatever it may be, travel, whatever you want to do. No, it's her very narrow version, her very narrow idea of what a good life as a woman looks like. And even though she is a wife and mother, even though she wears lovely dresses and has beautiful hair, she's not chopped off her hair in a buzz cut, she's not walking around in androgynous outfits.

She herself actually embraces femininity. Oh no, when conservatives do it, we're putting ourselves in a straightjacket. Thank you, Jennifer. Somebody commented and said, "Completely predictable. Thinks each should be fired, but firing them is misogynistic." Yes. Also, this was so perfect. Somebody else commented and said, "I thought we weren't supposed to consider gender." And then he highlighted again the fact that she calls herself the first partner of California.

Yes, well guys, obviously we don't consider gender unless it suits our narrative, of course. Unless we need something to about and then suddenly we care very deeply about femininity and gender. Now, while Jennifer Siebel Newsom has made such a big stink about not being the first lady, she hates the term lady, she wants to be called the first partner, she has made an even bigger stink about her kids. Oh my gosh, this is crazy, guys.

Her kids having to learn the differences between men and women. In fact, she wants the government, she and her husband's government to step in to stop that from happening. Just watch. Boys who spend time online are moving a little bit um are Uh I'm trying not to be political here, but are moving to the right. We were like one of the most progressive households and our son is confused and asking all these questions. We're working on legislation to hold tech companies accountable and be help them be a force for good in our kids' and families' lives.

Um to to to really provide all the best-in-class resources and support for youth so that they don't go down this rabbit hole of very, very dangerous um and limiting narratives around ultimately what it means to be a girl and what it means to be a a boy. Oh gosh, so dangerous. So dangerous talking about what it means to be a girl and what it means to be a boy. I'm listening to her talk and I'm like, I feel like we have more pressing matters to address when it comes to Big Tech.

You are a mother. You have young daughters. Are you not more concerned with the influx of pornography on social media sites? Are you not concerned with the fact that on platforms like Meta, you can create an account for a minor. You can say, "I'm 13 years old." And within a matter of seconds of creating that account, that minor is served sexual content. That minor is receiving DMs soliciting sex and prostitution. Don't you think that might be a bigger concern for families if we're going to wield legislation in regards to Big Tech?

No, no, actually, we want to make sure that when her sons are watching sports content, they don't interact with alt-right narratives. That's what she's saying. Her sons consume sports content, then it dips them into this alt-right world. She needs Big Tech to stop What What is Big Tech going to do? Go to Dave Portnoy and Barstool and say, "Stop saying those offensive jokes. Don't You need to take that out of your podcast.

And my son's What? Like, it's ridiculous. It is absolutely ridiculous. And obviously, you know, every parent wants to indoctrinate their own children with their own values. I want to do the same for my son, obviously. Jennifer wants to do that for her kids, but like, God forbid your kids know that the genders aren't the same, that there are differences between boys and girls, that not every man is a soy boy beta cuck like the ones they are around in California.

The thing is, Jennifer and Gavin, they are not going to protect your children from the soy boy beta cucks.

They want them to see them. She actually wanted people to know in that same little appearance that they were going to institutionalize their values in the limited time they had left in office. The governor and I, we have 3 more years. We're trying to institutionalize our values so that they carry on beyond our term. And then maybe after that, Gavin and his bucket of hair gel will head straight to the White House. But But again, maybe not because of her.

Somebody said, "Imagine you're Gavin Newsom doing every podcast, trying to say all of the right things, building your base reputation, and your wife destroys everything in seconds." Literally, mere days. 24 hours. When people found the first clip of her, it all started steamrolling. It was like a snowball effect. Suddenly, my timeline was just flooded with Jennifer Siebel Newsom. I was having flashbacks to being 14 years old, and suddenly it is all anyone is talking about.

But guys, it gets even better from here, or I guess I should say worse. Because in addition to all of that, all of her virtue signaling, she also wanted people to know that because she is such a benevolent and tolerant, loving left-wing mom, she and Gavin took her children on a pilgrimage to red states in America to learn about racism, to learn about racism and actually see it in person. Watch this. You took your four kids on this trip.

You're here in Alabama now. Why was it important to you to take them on this trip to red states and learn about the history in our country? Mhm. That's a great question. Well, I don't think, or I know for a fact that we don't get all of this history in our schools. Um and it's it's part of and, you know, enlivening them, building their curiosity, uh expanding their hearts, their empathy, so that they themselves can be the change they wish to see in the world and recognize that, you know, we have work to do and that we have healing to do.

And so that they can be, you know, use their voices to stand up and speak out when they see pain and suffering and bullying and racism and misogyny around them. And You want them to see it so that they know. I do. Um I'm a truth-seeker. I do. I do. It's like Jennifer in this clip was trying to kind of beat around the bush. You know, she wants her kids to get the real history that apparently is not being taught in California schools.

She wants her kids to expand their horizons, be curious. That's all great things, you know, travel with your kids, that's wonderful. And then Jen is like, "No, I get what you're saying. You want them to see that southern backwards racism, sexism right up close and personal." And then the facade is just destroyed. Jennifer is like, "Oh, I do. I'M A TRUTH-SEEKER. [screaming] I DO. I do." Shut like, "Wow, like I'm so great.

I'm sure that this will make people in the South really excited to vote for your husband when he's saying, 'I'm going to represent the people of Alabama.'" WHAT IS HE GOING TO SAY? "I'M GOING TO help you all not be so racist. If you elect me as president, I will turn your life around." Like seriously. This meme was so perfect. This guy posted, "Kids, come look at the peasants." Yeah, yes, let's have some empathy for these sexist, misogynistic Alabamans.

Alabamans? Alabamonians? I don't even know what I'm trying to say. You get the point. The elitism is off the charts. Somebody else posted and said, "Newsom's wife is dragging the kids to red states for a racism field trip is peak California elitism." Meanwhile, those same backward states are outpacing blue cities in everything from migration to economic growth. Condescension writes itself. Yeah, it certainly does. But you know what?

I honestly, for one, am glad that they are not trying to hide their values so that Americans, all Americans, even the backward ones in Alabama, my friends from Alabama, you guys know who they truly are. Ironically, and I thought this was so funny, while Jennifer was accusing all of us in red states for being racist and sexist and backwards, bullies, all of the things, she wanted the rapists and murderers in San Quentin to know that they were probably in jail because of just some little accidents.

Yes, just listen to this. And I know if you are confused by her story, if you do not worry, I will explain, so stay tuned. I had to be very raw when we interviewed the the young men who were juvenile offenders in San Quentin. Um I told them about my own loss where um my I lost my older sister a few days before my seventh birthday. And I blamed myself for her death. And I share that um because that they ultimately were accused of committing these violent crimes and sentenced for life.

And I think it shocked them that this, you know, blonde lady who was, you know, the uh interviewing them had a similar story, um was perhaps in the wrong place at the wrong time. And but wasn't punished the way they were because clearly it was an accident, but theirs was probably an accident, too. Theirs was probably an accident. These offenders of violent crimes, it was probably just an accident that they ended up in San Quentin.

I mean, also, imagine going to San Quentin, sitting in front of these prisoners, and making it about you. Being like, "Let me tell you about how I killed that. "How I killed somebody and I avoided going to prison." That's not going to make them feel better. If you're not fixing their situation, if you're not opening up the gates and letting them out, I don't think they really want to hear about how you avoided the sentence that they are currently facing.

All right, now, anyway, sorry. I got ahead of myself. There is so much to unpack here. So, this is where I do want to change my tone a little bit because I have spent the entire episode ripping into her except when I was telling you about how I used to love her, but this truly is what she's talking about. It is a devastating story and in my opinion, like if we're doing a psychoanalysis, I think that it tells us a lot about who she is today.

So, the story is that when she was six, I think this was in 1981, she said she was on vacation with her family in Hawaii. She and her older sister who was eight at the time, they were playing, the family had a golf cart that came with the resort, the Airbnb, whatever it was in 1981. She was playing on the golf cart, she put it in reverse, she accidentally ran over and killed her eight-year-old sister. I think that her sister died maybe 24 hours later.

I don't know all the details, but I mean, like I I get chills when I think about it because it is just so awful. And obviously I was not involved in my brother's death, but I think about losing a sibling at such a young age that following you, the things that, you know, transpire in your family, your parents' marriage, like every single facet of her life changed after that tragedy. Understandably, it has followed her throughout her entire life.

She's now 55 years old, she's still tearing up when she talks about it. Obviously, it is an awful, tragic, traumatic thing. In one interview, she said, "I felt the pressure to be perfect, to make my parents forget by being two daughters instead of one. I'm sure that there was survivor's guilt, I'm sure in my subconscious, it's like I have to make up for that loss and I have to do something to improve other people's lives or have an impact to double my own, which is a little crazy."

So, I just want you to think about that and what she's saying and then think about what drives so much of progressivism, of leftist ideology, which as Alybeth Sackey says, toxic empathy. This idea that everyone around you is oppressed, is a victim that you have to save, you have, you know, your white savior complex, as they say. You have to go out of your way, even if you are compromising the well-being of the economy, of our society, of culture, you have to save these people.

It's like Jennifer, the way that I see it, she's walking through life trying to create problems or make them up in her head so that then she can solve them to feel like she is benevolent and doing good in the world. Maybe so she can make up for that loss with her parents, for the world at large, with God, I don't know. And so what I'm trying to say here is that if this woman sounds over the top and nauseating in her arrogance, in her desperation to be the person solving all of these made-up problems, it's probably because she is.

Like she has twisted up so many things in her mind that she can compare her tragic, objectively traumatic and tragic six-year-old accident to juvenile prisoners in San Quentin, which is a notorious maximum security prison that has historically held death row inmates. It was the only prison in California that did executions. It was the worst of the worst, like Charles Manson was in San Quentin and the young people, the juveniles who are incarcerated there are those who committed such violent crimes that they got life sentences.

And she's sitting in front of them and because of this toxic empathy, her victim savior complex, she can't even see how out of touch and offensive her comments might sound to these individuals, how it will not impact them in the slightest because she is so desperate to absolve herself of what happened when she was six years old. Like I'm honestly surprised at that point that she didn't pull out the, you know, white woman privilege card.

Who knows if she did it another time, but anyway, that is the context there and again, I think it gives a little more insight into who she is. Matt Van Swoll commented on that video and said, "The more I see it, the more I understand. Democrats have zero empathy for the victims of hate and infinite empathy for the perpetrators of it, but the audacity of this statement is genuinely astonishing." Yes, well, of course, she has all of the empathy in the world unless you are a perpetrator of racism and sexism in Alabama, then she has no tolerance, she wants her four young children to stare at you like zoo animals so that they themselves can learn empathy and learn how to save us, obviously.

Somebody else said, "Please do not mute her microphone. To the contrary, please give her as many opportunities to open her mouth as possible. She will continue to say insanely stupid things that will only hurt Gavin's short-lived career. Birds of a feather." Yeah, and like at the very least, it's a good thing they found each other. They can just be nauseating and elitist and arrogant together. I would not want to be sitting at a dinner table with the two of them.

Now, all of that being said, the internet has had an absolute field day with these clips. Again, I showed you three, there are probably 12 that I have bookmarked, but you know what? We've got a long time until 2028, so I am sure that they will recirculate once again cuz honestly, it feels like it's a little too early in the game to use up all of this great content, but do not worry because there will always be more.

Maybe as we even get closer to the residential race, we can talk about Gavin's sex scandals. We can talk about how Jennifer Siebel Newsom accused Harvey Weinstein of raping her until years later, she emailed her alleged rapist to get help asking him for advice. It doesn't really make sense, does it? Anyway, so tell me, Jennifer, is that part of the feminism that you hope your daughters inherit and emulate? I don't know, just wondering.
