Brett Cooper — Tyler Oliveira Labeled Antisemitic for Calling Out Fraud | Episode 143

So, the world loved Nick Shirley and Tyler Olivivera when they were exposing Somali fraud, the daycarees, when Tyler was exposing the cat eating Haitian immigrants. But now that Tyler has released multiple videos looking into a welfare dependent Jewish community in New Jersey and Nick is encouraging it and supporting him, well, the internet is of course turning on them and calling them anti-Semitic. It is incredibly hypocritical in my opinion and we will talk about why, but it is also very par for the course.

Now, you guys might remember, but I have talked about both Tyler and Nick on this show recently. We talked about Tyler a few months ago while he was getting cancelled by the online Indian community after going to the Indian poop throwing festival and letting us all into that world. Of course, we talked about Nick when he was going viral for exposing the Somali daycare fraud. And for both of them, I think it's important to note these types of videos.

That is their entire shtick. They go to crazy places. They confront people. They do these man on the street interviews. They expose fraud. Like in every single video, it feels like they are showing us the underbelly of the world that the mainstream media often avoids. And all of these videos almost always piss off somebody. Usually it's the people that is being exposed. But these videos are never welcomed by the entire world.

And I would say that in dealing with the two guys, like Nick is definitely a bit sweeter and like less controversial when it comes to his presentation. But like Tyler, he is a traditional YouTuber through and through. He writes catchy titles and makes edgy just like wild thumbnails. And if you've worked in marketing and YouTube or if you like are a big YouTube consumer, you know that this is very common. It's often called like the Mr.

Beast strategy. That is very much what he does. Anyway, just like laying the groundwork there so we all on the same page. A month ago, Tyler released an expose video very similar to Nick's Somali daycare fraud video, but instead that video was on a Jewish community in upstate New York living off of welfare. And now 3 days ago, Tyler released a follow-up video. This one was on a different town, Lakewood, New Jersey. And you can see both of them here on his channel.

What we need to talk about today is why both Nick and Tyler are now getting cancelled. All right, so let's just dive on into this story and see how many people I can piss off today. So, for a little more context, Tyler's first video that he did a month ago back in January was on a town called Curious Joel. And essentially what he found in that first video in this town was that most of the community is made up of these ginormous families and they were living off of welfare and food stamps.

But this first video and Tyler's accusations or I guess findings I would say were not out of nowhere. People have been talking about this community for years. There was even a New York Times expose done on them back in 2011. And at the time the New York Times found that 70% of the community lives below the poverty line with a median income of 18,000 a year and that the majority of them are on welfare. They wrote women marry young.

Obviously that makes sense. its orthodox Jewish community and they remain in the village to raise their families and according to religious structures do not use birth control. As a result, the median age under 12 is the lowest in the country and the household size nearly six is the highest. Mothers rarely work outside of the home while their children are young. Most residents raised as Yiddish speakers do not speak much English and most men devote themselves to Torah and Talmud studies rather than academic training.

Only 39% of the residents are high school graduates and less than 5% have a bachelor's degree. Several hundred adults study full-time at religious institutions. So the argument or I guess the concern that the New York Times was laying out about this community is that some of them are choosing not to work and instead pursue theological studies instead while simultaneously using taxpayer dollars to supplement that income that they are forgoing while having these huge families that they need to support.

So in his video, Tyler went on up to upstate New York to see if that was accurate and to ask community members the question, how does everyone afford these huge families? And as he is going around this town and interviewing people, he finds that most of the men that he is speaking to do not work because they are studying the Torah. And so they are single-inccome families either relying on welfare or on the mothers working.

Uh what do you what food do you sell? >> Chocolate. >> What? How do you afford to study the Torah, though? >> God help me. >> Does the American taxpayer help you, too? Oh, so yes. >> Yeah. Are you a student of the Torah? >> Yes. >> Um, do you work a job for money?

>> I >> Yeah. >> No. >> Does your wife? >> Yes, >> she does. Does your wife go to work to make money and you study Torah? >> Where are you? >> Um, Tyler, good to meet you. Excuse me. Do you guys take EBT? >> We do. >> Like, do most people come in here and use EBT? >> Yeah. Okay. What percentage of people would you say use EBT for their groceries here? >> 100%. Wow. He said 100%. Huh? Oh, how what percentage would you say?

What would be your estimate? >> Well, not 100%. >> Cuz 100's too much, right? >> What percentage of people here use EBT for their groceries? >> 85%. >> A little bit difficult to conclude what to take away from that. >> So, obviously back in January when Tyler posted this, this video went mega viral. And basically, everyone was angry for a myriad of different reasons. Some people were angry because they thought it was anti-Semitic, but most people were just angry because much like with the Somali fraud and everything that Nick Shirley exposed, just like normal everyday hardworking American taxpayers who play by the rules and do everything right, are simply fed up with people from all different backgrounds, all different races who gamify the system and who benefit from their hard work.

Like that is what people are upset about. Somebody commented on that YouTube video and said, "I am literally being ripped off by everyone in this country." And I think that that is the whole point of Tyler and Nick's content. like they are exposing that we are getting ripped off by everyone. It's not racist. It's just exposing the entirety of the corruption. Another guy said, "Why does it feel like everyone besides me is allowed to be a parasite and live off of the money forcibly removed from my paycheck every week?"

It is a great question, my friend Ian McDonald. All right, so again, like I said, that was the first video. It was published back in January. And yes, again, there was plenty of outrage online. He was called anti-Semitic by some people, but people moved on. We have the attention span of a P, so they found the next thing to be angry about. But then this week, at the end of February, Tyler decided to release yet another video that really sent some right-wing influencers into the nutouse.

And this one focused more on fraud around the New Jersey public school system in a primarily Jewish area. Just take a look at this video. Board was majority private school owners, you know, mainly Jewish white men. And most of our school was not Jewish. And they had control over our public school system over like the past 10 years, purposely voting no under school budget vote so that we would fail. and we lost about 32 schools.

>> Basically, through block voting, Orthodox Jews won enough seats to control the East Ramapo school board and went on to eliminate hundreds of public school positions like teachers and social workers while approving millions of taxpayer dollars to be spent on their children's religious private schools, ultimately gutting the public school system for the estimated 9,000 black and brown public school students while diverting that money to their private religious schools.

>> They give us food. that's rotten and it's cold and it hurts our stomach. >> I ask you, do not take our music program away. I love playing an instrument. My brother would be crushed. >> And the budget cuts were so devastating that in one instance, an elementary school shut down and the majority Jewish school board then voted to sell it to a Jewish yeshiva for pennies on the dollar. Basically, the poorest, most vulnerable kids in these communities had their schools gutted and looted, all by a majority Jewish school board whose kids didn't even attend public school.

>> We believe that some of the decisions that have been made by the board have not been in the best interest of the public school community. >> We're basically isolated to the point where we feel like this isn't our home. All right, so we just watched that video together. But to sum it up, what Tyler and these community members are alleging, and maybe I shouldn't even say alleged because this is all documented in the media, but they're saying that money in this community is being diverted from public schools because it's not just Jewish community, but it's being diverted from those schools to the private Jewish schools or yeshiva.

And then by default, those public schools deteriorate, they shut down, and then non-Jewish people have nowhere to send their kids. Take a look at this headline for example, Lakewood's ultraorththodox day schools, quote, tyranny of the many. And the subheader reads, "Lublicwood public school students, black, latino, and economically disadvantaged, are deprived of their constitutionally guaranteed, thorough, and efficient education."

Now, these clips from Tyler's video have obviously been going crazy viral, and there are lots of angry people online who are commenting defending this community and saying, you know, this is not fraud. We are defending this community. This is not akin to what Nick Shirley exposed in Minnesota. It's totally different. Like, everything that Tyler uncovered in both of his videos is totally fine. It's okay. He's just being a racist.

For example, somebody said, "This is so low IQ. First of all, there aren't enough Jews in America for anything to be an invasion." And then second, she says, "Jews aren't a culture that blows themselves up or wages holy war. They build families. They start businesses. They value education. They contribute. That is the American model. Faith, family, hard work, and freedom." Now, we will get to the invasion part and I will show you why it is a nothing burger based on Tyler's video styles and how he titles his videos.

But like while this is a nice sentiment and I understand this, it does seem like I'm sorry, but it does seem like there is something going on in Lakewood, New Jersey, and it should be looked into and you should not be called a racist for doing so. Just like we argued against the leftists who were saying that Nick was a racist for looking into the Somali, like it is the same thing. And whether any fraud is being carried out by the Jewish community or not, there's clearly something happening in this community that they have been fighting for decades.

For example, public school parents have been sounding the alarm about the district's inequality and the confusingly astronomical spending. Just listen to this. This is from an article from a couple years ago. The district in Lakewood, New Jersey, their proposed budget for the 2025 2026 school year includes a loan of just over $100 million from the state government, which would follow a $144 million loan in the prior year and a $50 million loan in the year prior to that.

This district expects to spend about $413 million this school year. In October of 2024, the district had fewer than 5,000 enrolled public school students, including 1,000 full-time students with special needs. The district earlier this year though said that more than 50,000 students were enrolled in Lakewood private schools including more than 10,000 who lived in outlying municipalities. So in terms of these numbers that means that they are spending $82,000 per student when the national average is like 15,000.

And these parents rightfully are confused. They don't know where the money is going especially as they see the Jewish private schools get tons of funding and get, you know, developed and expanded while their children are being fed quote unquote cold rotten food per that little girl's testimony in front of the school board. If I was a parent there, I would also be upset. Now, if that is not evidence of fraud, I think that it is also worthy to note that back in 2017, the FBI carried out a huge raid in Lakewood where 26 Orthodox Jews were charged of stealing $2 million in government benefits.

I can't believe I have to preface it with this, but I'm not saying that to be racist. I'm just saying that to paint the picture that maybe Tyler is also trying to paint for the world at large. But his article reads, quote, "You have a family of six or seven or eight. Somebody is paying the mortgage. Somebody is paying the taxes. They have two cars in the driveway. They've got food for all the kids and they are reporting their total income at $10,000, says the Ocean County prosecutor who took the lead in the case.

You have to ask what is going on here. That's what Tyler's asking. That's what the New York Times asked back in 2011. In one case unsealed by the court in June, a couple with six children are alleged to have reported their income at 39,000 per year, low enough to qualify for Medicaid, when in fact they were getting more than $1 million annually from a limited liability corporation. Like guys, we made fun of the Somali saying that the Minnesota government could not look into the alleged fraud because that would be racist and they would come out and say that they were racist.

Like we have to be able to laugh at the ridiculousness of this too. The ridiculousness of that excuse. Like that is just fair. But apparently no, that is not allowed. The internet said, "No way, Jose." Now once Tyler's video was posted, obviously the world unleashed on him and in fact his entire Patreon subscription platform for his whole community that was totally nuked and shut down. that in response to him posting about this, this is really good.

One person retweeted it and said, "Perhaps it is time for Tyler to get a real job and stop harassing Orthodox Jews on the street." I don't know. But this man, this commenter right here, he might be taking this whole thing a little bit personally because apparently he is the superintendent of the school district in New York from Tyler's first video back in that original upstate New York town. And oh my goodness, it looks like they maybe have a massive problem as well.

Tyler responded to him and said, "This is the superintendent of the Curious Joel School District. I wonder why he wouldn't want me making a video about his community. And that he posted this headline from Yahoo. A tiny hidic district won't explain how it's spending $94 million in relief funds. And just listen to this from that article. All right. Most recently, school officials refused to address how the system of less than 500 students is spending nearly $94 million in federal pandemic aid designed to curb learning loss and other effects of one of the worst disruptors of education in American history.

To put that about in perspective, in the last round of funding alone, the Curious Joel Village Union Free School District received over $95,000 per student, nearly $40 times the national average, and more than double what New York schools spend on special education students. Like guys, that is insane. If that was the case in Minnesota, if we were dealing with a Somali community, if that was in Springfield, Ohio with the Haitians, the entire internet would be losing their minds.

It doesn't matter whether it is a Jewish community or a Christian community. Wouldn't matter if it was a black community or white community. They are incredibly angry. They are claiming that Tyler is anti-Semitic and that he is going out of his way to target American Jewish communities.

But guys, I'm sorry. I really do not think it is about you. I don't think he is targeting you because these, if you just look on his channel, these are the rest of his videos. And yes, he uses the word invasion a lot. Here we go. Inside Pennsylvania's immigrant invasion. THAT WAS OKAY. TALKING ABOUT that was okay. Inside the Ohio town invaded by eating Haitians. There we go. Invaded again. That was also okay. I interviewed the most racist black people in America.

I expose the most corrupt churches in America. Like, I'm sorry. Tyler is targeting everyone. You better watch out because he's coming for you. Like, he always has. He makes edgy jokes. He makes crazy thumbnails. I think they're hysterical. They offend everyone. If he's exposing you, you're probably going to be offended. It's nothing new. He has been doing it for years. So, let's just get that part out in the open. To make matters even worse online and to highlight even more hypocrisy, Nick Shirley jumped into Tyler's comment section to support him and to support his most recent video.

And he posted this. He said, "Expose it all." And oh boy, this really turned the internet upside down because people could not fathom that their Nick, their darling, that he was supporting this man. One person said, "Good way to make a lot of people regret supporting you." What exactly do you think is being exposed here? Laura Loomer jumped in and said, "Expose what?" Jewish US citizens living their life peacefully.

All right, now this is where it gets even more ironic and funny to me because Laura has been one of the loudest voices going after Tyler over the last 48 hours, which is so funny because this is what she DM'd him after one of his other exposees last year in 2024. You were glazing me for asking the hard-hitting questions in Springfield, Ohio. Where did that same energy go? All that plastic is getting to your head. This is what Laura sent him in September of 2024 after his Springfield, Ohio cat eating Haitians video.

She said, "Your interview with that guy in Ohio was great. I appreciate that. We found some crazy Stay tuned." and she said that man was hilarious and he said, "Yeah, he does not like his neighbors." And then she responded and said, "I'd like to buy him some groceries." Yeah. So he doesn't have to eat his neighbors cats. Now, I am sorry, but going through all of this outrage, reading the comments, reading this DM exchange, like you guys are making me feel like a lib right now.

Because why was my first thought, "Oh, so you guys only like these videos when it's black and brown people being exposed." Like seriously, that is really what it's coming to. That is actually what it feels like. Because everyone was cheering Nick on when he was exposing the Somali and the Larrying Center, all the daycarees. You loved it when Tyler went into Springfield, Ohio to figure out what was going on with a cat eating Haitians.

We all laughed when Tyler went to India and subjected himself to the Indian poop festival when he exposed the Indian invasion in Canada a couple of weeks ago. Everybody loved it. But now this is crossing a line like now he's being racist. Like where was that energy with all the rest of his videos? Were those not racist? Cuz I'm pretty sure he was doing the same titles, the same type of video, the same thumbnails, but now something is different.

The irony is glaring. Now, Tyler responded to all of this outrage. He pointed this out and he said, "They call you an American patriot if you criticize black and brown welfare abuse and fraud. They'll call you an anti-semite if you examine the Jewish community with the same critical eye. American taxpayers are the slaves funding ethnic enclaves across America. It is time to wake up." That is the story at large that both of these men are talking about.

It is so much bigger than just these two videos, than just these two predominantly Jewish towns. It is so much bigger. Somebody commented and said, "Comment section, I am very angry that you exposed the fraud of my tribe. Exposing fraud is only acceptable when it's not my tribe." Like, it's it's literally what's happening. And listen, like, I get it. I always say this, but like it's understandable to be defensive about your community, to be protective of your community or community that you love.

But if you are going to sit here behind your desk on your phone commenting and mocking others, if you're going to say that you love exposing corruption, if you want it all exposed, then you do have to be willing to look at your own tribe, to look at your own party. And it's not just about Medicaid or welfare fraud. That's about politics, the GOP, the Democrats. Like, you have to be willing to look in the mirror and reflect on your own people.

That means that you are an honest person and that you have integrity is all I'm trying to say. Now, possibly the most insane interaction. We can kind of end with this. After somebody made a post condemning Nick again for literally just commenting expose it all, and Laura Loomer jumped right back in and she went so far as to say this. She said, "As I said before, the GOP has a massive Nazi problem." And in response, Nick said this.

He said, "Calling me a Nazi is the furthest thing from the truth. I am simply anti-fraud. I am not anti-Semitic. Me saying expose it all, referring to all fraud, is not anti-Semitic. I have been very clear. I am simply anti-fraud. There was no hatred intended whatsoever. If anything, Tyler's video creates conversation about how our welfare system operates. Whether you think it's fraud or not, this Nazi name calling is so far out there and it is not even remotely true.

It is the same tactic leftists have used against their opposition for years to incite violence and spread lies. Fortunately, people are starting to see through it. Wish you the best, Laura, and open to talking if you'd like. My DMs are open. Like seriously, calling Nick Shirley a Nazi is the most insane thing I can ever imagine. He is the nicest guy. He is so genuine. He is kind to everyone he meets. He is so grateful.

He is hungry. He works so hard. Like this is an absolutely insane label to put on him simply because he supported somebody else's video who was doing something similar to what Nick is doing. Like it it's crazy. Anyway, but this comment is spot on because it is all about fraud. And I do think it is fair to argue that there is a difference between refugees who are living off of Medicaid and American taxpayers and American citizens.

But all of this is still demonstrating that across the board there are so many just an insane amount of failures in terms of our welfare system. That billions of dollars a year across our entire country gets misappropriated. That hardworking American taxpayers who are not trying to exploit the system get ripped off. People are angry. They want justice. They want it shut down. Somebody commented and said, "After watching Teller's videos on Jewish communities using welfare to have 10 plus kids, getting state and federal dollars to fund their private police, schools, and emergency services, all I can say is this is why all social supports for everyone must end.

That is where so many Americans are at right now. It is not about going after specific races. It is about exposing corruption in the way that our system is abused at every single level. This should be something that all Americans can get on board with because it is our money. It is the hours that we put into our jobs. That is the money that we should be able to dedicate right back to our own families. And so when we see videos like this, whether it's in New Jersey or New York or Minnesota or Ohio, it pisses people off and they want change.

That's not racist. That is normal.
