Brett Cooper — Alex Cooper's Empire Is Falling Apart

- Well guys, based on some information that I received today, it seems like a storm might be brewing for Alex Cooper, host of Call her daddy, owner of the Unwell Network. And Alix Earle, the talker that she's currently feuding with, might just be riding the waves waiting for this to hit her. Now this is what I know it is not new information out in the world that Alex Cooper is a quote unquote shark in business, a mean girl if you will, or that she and her husband Matt Kaplan, who owns the company with her are difficult to work with.

The word that has been thrown around both online and in my circles is narcissistic. It seems like it is just an open secret in this very weird online digital industry. And ironically, the only thing that is sort of helping Alex Cooper out right now, like as she faces the internet mob, is the accusation that Alix Earle is MAGA and that their falling out was over politics. Of course. So let's talk about all of it and break down how everything that we are seeing is part of a normal playbook in the contentious and litigious, very litigious world of Hollywood and new media.

And I've gotta be honest guys, I think I've seen this film before and I didn't like the ending because again, this is all very normal new media bs okay? So if you have not been following this story, skip ahead, go halfway through through the video. You will see what is happening right now. But for those of you who are not chronically online, let's chat. So Alex Cooper and Alix Earle are the women that we are dealing with here today.

They are the most important cast of characters in this 2026 viral feud that is taken the internet by storm. And yes, they are two different people. I know that they are both skinny blonde girls in tight miniskirts, but they are different people. Alex Cooper is to call her daddy host. She is the media mogul behind Unwell Network. The other Alix Earle, she is a mega TikTok star. She was the runner up on Dancing With the Stars.

She now has a new Netflix reality TV show that's being filmed about her and her family. She is like the biggest influencer in the world right now. And to understand this story and why these two women are allegedly or not allegedly, they are feuding. We have to go back in time to when, like I was saying in the introduction, Alex Cooper and Call her Daddy were still at the Bar Stool Network. And back in 20, 22 years after they had launched the show, there was a huge blowup between Alex Cooper and Sophia Franklin, who was her call her daddy co-host at the time they were fighting over their bar stool deal, how much they were getting paid the future of the show.

And if the show would stay at Barstool. Now, Sophia, after this very contentious year, she ended up leaving the podcast while Alex became the sole host of the podcast and she stayed at Barstool. Now Alex Cooper as now the sole host of the podcast, after this girl left, she made her out to be a total asshole, you know, a betrayer. This girl was shamed, she was mocked. They said that she was controlled by her boyfriend who was giving her bad advice.

They made her out to be the villain, even though it was Alex Cooper who went behind her best friend, her co-hosts back to renegotiate with Barstool and tried to get herself more money through this girl under the bus to renegotiate with Barstool and get more money for herself as they were fighting over the future of their show and their friendship. This other girl was made out to be the villain because she did not wanna stay at Barstool and she wanted to take the show somewhere else.

So that Alex Cooper, that is who we are dealing with here. And obviously I've talked about her on the show a lot, you know, her politics, what I think about that. But that is important context for who this woman is. A year later, after all of that hub up with Barstool, Alex Cooper then leaves Barstool Sports with her IP and she signs a $60 million deal with Spotify. And that's really important because when she and her co-host were doing the show together, they were making $70,000 a year.

They're making $70,000 a year, and their show for Barstool was bringing in an alleged $11 million. So they made that much money for Barstool. So Sophia didn't get to cash out, she left. Then a year later, Alex Cooper completely cashes out and obviously the wounds are still fresh. The ex co-hosts feel slighted because that is what she had been pushing Alex Cooper to do. She wanted to leave Barstool take the show somewhere else.

She thought that it was worth more, I dunno if she knew that it was worth $60 million, but she knew it was worth something. And yet Alex Cooper, then she cashes in a loan. She sells the entire back catalogue of their podcast that they did together for years. She sells it all to Spotify. Now then fast forward another two years, Alex Hooper meets her husband. She creates the unwell network on the back of her call Daddy podcast and she launches it underneath her husband's media company.

And the first person that she signed at this unwell network was the huge talker, Alix Earle. And again, I know they look the same, but these are two different women. And signing this huge megastar, the biggest TikTok on the platform, the biggest influencer in the world, people believe that that is what allowed her to leverage her business with SiriusXM and get a $125 million deal to distribute the entire shows to allow her to give her that money to build this network.

Now with Alix Earle now under the Unwell Network umbrella, they created a podcast. And this podcast was called Hot Mess. And it was essentially call her daddy, but with a different blonde girl with Alix Earle. She talked about dating drama, her sex life. She even had nicknames for the guys that she was going out with, kind of like how Alex Cooper and Sophia Franklin did in the OG days of call her daddy. And a lot of people thought that Alex Cooper was essentially using Alix Earle to keep her call her daddy, her crazy sleeping around, dating shtick alive while Alex Cooper tried to transition to become more of a serious interviewer, the Oprah of her generation, which is what people like to say.

And all of this coincided with Alex Cooper getting married because obviously she was doing colour daddy. She was doing the whole like gluck luck thing. She was talking about all of the men that she was sleeping with. But then she secretly met her husband, secretly got engaged, felt embarrassed to tell her audience that because she didn't wanna let them down because for years she'd been telling them not to get married, not to settle for a man, all of those things.

So as she was moving on to this new part of her life, obviously she was not gonna be sitting here talking about all the guys that she was sleeping with every day because she was, you know, with her husband, she needed somebody to carry that torch. So she brought in Alix Earle, then she started, you know, doing the serious interviews with, you know, the Kamala Harris of the world, which we will get to. But the thing is, hot mess with Alix Earle, that podcast, it was a total flop.

Nobody cared. And I think it's well established at this point that you can't just switch out two distinct personalities into an established format with an established audience and expect it to work out. That kind of, in my personal opinion is just common sense. Like this is not cable tv we are dealing with, this is not late night TV where you could just switch out the hosts. It is social media. Your connection with your audience is paramount.

The authenticity, the audience, it matters more than anything. You cannot just swap talent. And the call her daddy brand wasn't really the Alix Earle brand and she never really should have been in the podcast format. She was always a talker and it never really felt right that she was trying to step into Alex Uber's shoes. So it makes sense that her, you know, YouTube podcast career never really took off. So that is what the numbers were showing us.

So fast forward about a year because things start to get interesting after fans noticed. One specific thing that Alix Earle's father said when he came on as a guest on her Hot Mess podcast, take a listen to this, he said that he had to get involved in her business in her life because of some bad business deals. And I want you to listen to this. - And it's, it's also so cool too 'cause just with everything and like every deal, like he's just always thinking outside the box and he's like, no, no, no, she could do this better.

She could do this. And like he'll have a lot of those hard conversations for me sometimes that like I can't have with people and he's like, no, no, no, like this is what she needs to be doing and like puts her foot down. 'cause like sometimes that's a little hard for me to do. Yeah, - Because - That can be scary - Too. Well that's not, it's also not your job, right? It's nice to have somebody there that can do that stuff for you.

You, you, you tend to be very hands-on. You have a hard time. I think pulling back a little bit, like you'll stay engaged too engaged to, to in some stuff. So you'll have to, as you get busier and busier, that'll be hard to maintain and it'll actually distract you from what you, what you're best at and what your whole business is revolves around, which is your content - Creation. Yeah. But there was a, what was a, a deal like in October that you guys were trying to get done and I found out that like conversations were being had with different people behind my back and I got a little mad at you and he was like, you just can't be involved in all these things.

Like yeah, sometimes like until the end of things like you're just not involved in, I was like, oh, okay, - Whatever. Yeah, well that was, that was a little bit of a different situation. Yeah, for two reasons. It was a business situation, but it was also something else which I was not happy about and I'm still not happy about. - So it's something that he was not happy about a business situation, he's still not happy about it.

And it happened in October of that year. This episode was recorded in December of 2024. So I just want you to log that date in your memory flag that alleged confrontation business dealing that her father had to get involved in behind her back that he did without her. Just log that for about five minutes. So then moving on, three months after that episode was filmed, you know, people are going, okay, this is interesting.

She's not really in the unwell fold anymore. Her show's not doing super well. Three months later everything blows up when Alix Earle skips the 2025 unwell network Super Bowl party that Alex Cooper hosts. Immediately people are like, okay, this is so weird. She's dating an NFL player like she should at this party. Every single unwell network talent is there. Alix Earle is nowhere to be found. It's not like she's doing something else.

She was like sitting at home watching the Super Bowl and then 18 days later it was announced that these two women, that hot mess, that Alix Earle was leaving the unwell network. But it was important to note that Alex was retaining her own ip. She was retaining her YouTube channel. She could take it with her. Honestly it was a smart move for Alex Cooper, you know, Portnoy and Barstool did that for her when she got her whole like $60 million Spotify deal.

It was right for her to do that for Alix Earle as well. And immediately after this news broke sources started reporting on tension between the two women. Like this was not an amicable parting of ways, like the headlines were saying that unwell dropped Alix Earle. It's not that they just, you know, simply moved on. They're going on and doing their own things. She was dropped One source said they've had a lot of drama between them since they decided to collaborate on unwell, they clashed over business, their friendship is over because of that.

Other than rumours about contract negotiations and disagreements about payment and those contracts, we never really heard anything else. We just knew that it was allegedly about business and that these two women were no longer friends. But since then, and this is over a year ago now, Alex has been making subtle remarks about unwell, about Alex Cooper on social media. Like she did a get ready with me right after the news broke.

And she said this, - And obviously there's been a lot of chatter online this week about me and work and I also have no idea what's going on. So - She has no idea about what's going on. And that kind of fits in with this narrative of her just being dropped now. Then after that she announced that she was putting her podcast again called Hot Mess on Pause, but she said that she really couldn't talk about it, like something was happening.

She couldn't talk about it, making people think that there was an NDA, like that is what she was hinting at. But I will say Alex Huber quickly responded to that. She posted a TikTok, she said, you know, that had nothing to do with unwell. We gave her, you know, the IP and the channels, what she was saying, like, I don't know what's going on in her life, but she's welcome to do the podcast. It's not about us. However, this little tit for tat back and forth, it didn't stop there.

And in the comment section of one video last summer where Alex was joking about how, you know, her astrology signs were saying that it was the perfect time for revenge to like go after people. You know, she should, you know, do a tell all about something in her life. Somebody commented and said this, yes, tell us what happened with Alex Cooper. Thank you. And Alex all responded and said, how much time do you have? So like that comment, you know, in and of itself that blew up.

But still like there was no real confrontation. She ended up not doing a tell all, even though her Gemini moon rising, whatever the fuck it is, even though it was telling her to do a tell all she didn't, she still stayed quiet until last week when everything really came to a head. So all of that is your background and context. So if you have followed all this, if you're chronically online, you are joining us here. Now we can talk about what has actually been going on.

We're gonna fast forward to last week when Alex Earl reposted this TikTok that somebody else made just watch. - I would honestly compare Alex Cooper to an ambulance chaser. Like you just had the most horrific accident of your life. You're, you know, hanging on by a thread, don't know if you're gonna make it. And she's the first one there. She's the first one there and she's a grim reaper. - But essentially she's saying that as a viewer, she feels like Alex Cooper takes advantage of the people on her show.

All of these terrible things happen to them. She's the first to get there. She wants to break the story and she feels like it really isn't authentic. Like she isn't there to care about them or support them, she just wants the clicks that comes with being the first one to that story. And Alix Earle reposted that. And let's be clear, she reposted a video calling her former boss, her former friend, a grim reaper. So obviously that caused a bit of a stir.

Everyone saw that she reposted it, it was a direct shot. And so then maybe about 48 hours later, it's the Monday morning after Coachella weekend one Bieber cell. Well Alix Earle is asleep in her Palm Springs house, you know, she's hung over. She's been out listening to Justin Bieber until 6:00 AM whenever it is. Alex Cooper posts this, - Hey guys, you guys know I don't usually address this kind of stuff because it feels like a waste of time.

And honestly it's embarrassing to participate in this, but I am obviously seeing the videos, I'm getting tagged, I see the dms, I see the comments. So at this point it just feels long overdue. Alix Earle, hey girl, the passive aggressive reposts and the likes and the commenting on things, I gotta call you out here. You're gonna need to get specific and just say what you gotta say about me. There's no NDA. No one is stopping you.

Stop hiding behind other people and just say it yourself, what's the beef? Because I'm really tired of waking up and seeing you using this fake drama to distract from other shit going online for you not interested. I know what happened and so do you so talk, unless the fake narrative that you're creating happens to be way more interesting than the truth, I have nothing to hide when it comes to you and me. So unless you actually have something to say, I'm out, this is over.

Have a good Monday, everyone. - I mean I watched that video and I had full body chills. I was shaking in my boots like love her or hate her. And I obviously have my problems with Alex Cooper, like she crushed with that video. Like if I was Alix Earle, I would've been like, ugh. Oh my God. Especially because she tagged Alix Earle directly. There was no caption, it was just at Alix Earle. Now that video got to Alix Earle very quickly and she responded soon after and said okay on it.

There are a few different ways that we could read that comment. It could be like, okay, I'm on it, I'm gonna go do my tell all. Or it's a sarcastic like okay, I'll go do it. Which because now you know, she hasn't spoken yet. It it most likely is this sarcastic. Like she's not actually gonna tell us anything, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Anyway, after she commented that, she also posted the video that her friends took of her when she first saw Alex Cooper's video reacting to it.

And in that video she's like, this just made me so happy, this is so funny. Like this is the best news I have heard all day. So she posted that reaction. Everybody was like, oh my god, we need to be refreshing her page. Like she's so excited, she's gonna be, you know, setting up her phone, doing her get ready with me, she's gonna be telling us everything. But it has been eight days and we still have heard nothing. Like the truth is Alex has not been on it.

She has been anything but on it. She has been travelling, she has been hosting brand events for her new skincare line. She has been doing ads with Microsoft, she's been doing, you know, Instagram dumps, carousel recaps of her week. She's been posting everything in the world except a tell all. And now like I said, it has been over a week and people are tired of refreshing her page. They're like, girl, we are dehydrated.

We are in the Sahara Desert just waiting for you to give us the tea. And she hasn't done it. All the while, while she is just going on about her life, nonchalantly posting all of these other things, the internet obviously has been waiting with bated breath and they have started to go at it and take sides. Even within this weird influencer industry. Like for example, Dave Portnoy, head of Barsol, he jumps in, he starts making tiktoks, offering insight because he knows both women, he knows Alix Earle socially, he obviously employed Alex Hooper, he knows how she is in business.

And he accidentally says that his other employee who goes by Brianna Chicken Fry, she is like his biggest female star right now. He says, you know, Brianna knows a bunch of information. And so then the internet, because Alix Earle isn't speaking, they immediately look over to Brianna Chicken Fry and suddenly she is in the middle of this entire story. And I don't really wanna get into this here because this is a whole other weird influencer drama thing.

But Brianna also had a falling out with her ex best friend, ex co-host of a podcast. Alex Cooper pooped in, gave this ex-best friend a podcast on the Amwell network, stole her from Barstool Brianna and that friend Grace O'Malley. They are not friends anymore. Brena is still hurt by it. She doesn't like that Alex Cooper did that. She feels slighted. So those two women, they have their own beef I guess. But apparently all that aside, Brianna Chicken Fry, Alix Earle, two tiktoks influencers, they are friends and allegedly, well actually it's not alleged Brena told us this, but Alix Earle told Brianna everything that went down with Alex Cooper told her everything about unwell how she feels, the kind of person that Alex Cooper is while they were attending the Super Bowl together.

But according to Brianna, it showed her exactly who Cooper, Alex Cooper truly is. Just watch. - I was a fan of Alex Cooper before I knew the wrath of fucking Alex Cooper and what she does to people and how she treats people. I'm friends with Alix Earle. Alix Earle told me everything that transpired between those two, two years ago at the Super Bowl. She told me everything, it didn't happen between them at the Super Bowl, but that's when she told me everything you can go time check me, you can go stamp check me.

I've said this on BFFs a million times. It's not my story to tell. So I didn't tell it from what Alix Earle told me. Alex Cooper is a very, very mean person - And, and I think this is important to note, but that alleged conversation about what went down, you know, them talking at the Super Bowl, it was only a couple months after Brianna chicken fries, ex best friend joined unwell. So she already had a bad taste in her mouth and Alix Earle tells her all these things, then she's like, I am done.

You're an awful person, a mean girl. My opinion on you is set. And so from there in large part fueled by Brianna Chicken Fry, kind of confirming that there was beef, the internet just started piling on even more like influencers who had worked with Alex Cooper in the past, started leaving like shady comments on people's posts about Alex Cooper liking a reposting posts that were critical of her, like it freaking blew up.

And again, Alix Earle, while all of this is happening, she said nothing. And maybe that was the strategy all along. Maybe you know, she knows that there is enough dirty laundry about Alex Cooper that will come out on his own. She wanted to let that air out before she told her own story. I don't know. Or, or maybe if she actually can't tell her own story. Now in another video actually on her Barstow podcast, Brianna said this, and I want you to listen closely - Also her saying that there's no NDAI just want everyone to be very clear with this.

Like if she's saying there's no NDA online for everyone to speculate and being like, oh, well then Alix Earle can say whatever, that doesn't mean that there isn't ND any NDA. Like there could be an NDA fully signed and Alex Cooper can say whatever she wants, but Alix Earle can't because if she signed an NDA, she did sign an NDA, but Alex Cooper doesn't have to say that because there's an NDA, I don't know if there is an NDA or what's going on with that.

But her saying that there's no NDA, we don't know if that's false or if that's true. - Now, this is not the insider information that I have. I have no idea if what Briana Chicken Fry is saying is true or could be true. And again, this silence could just be a strategy on Alex Earl's part like we already established. But what I will tell you is that what Brianna just said there on her podcast was my first thought when I watched Alex Cooper's video.

Because that right there is a very real thing. It is public gaslighting. Somebody will sit behind a microphone and they will say, you know, why isn't this person talking? Like well just go, just go ask them about this. So just go talk to them like it's so sad that they won't just come out and tell everyone, tell everyone X, Y, Z, whatever's going on. You know, they'll just have to tell you their story. Why don't you just go ask them all the while that person that they're talking about in question is tied up in an NDA and can't say anything.

So that theory, even though again, I have no information, I don't know if that is true, that would be very crazy. That is just one theory on why it has been eight days and we have heard nothing from Alix Earle, but what is taking the internet by storm now in the midst of Alix Earle's silence are the theories about what actually happened and what might be brewing behind the scenes for Alex Cooper. And the biggest story that is actually helping Alex Cooper right now after a week of people being on Alex Earl's side is the accusation obviously that Alix Earle is maga.

And this theory comes from the fact that her dad and stepmom have previously been public about the fact that they're Republican, like her stepmom has a TikTok channel and she's made videos about that. Alix Earle has a photo of viral photo of her with Ivanka Trump. She allegedly posted a Trump flag way back before she was famous, like back in college and then posting in support of Israel after October 7th in 2023, which actually cost her a couple of brand deals.

So all of that has happened. She really hasn't talked much about her politics. Now everybody is going, oh my gosh, she's a Trump supporter. I mean they're now theorising that this was the issue. Now my friend Marcos, who used to have the channel be better, I've talked about him a lot. He actually broke this story on his new TikTok page. Just watch this. - And my source tells me that Alex Cooper privately felt that Alix Earle's podcast would be a brand liability because Cooper had plans to position the unwell network in the progressive cultural mainstream.

Now fast forward the political turbulence between the two Alexes came to a scathing breaking point the day that Alex Cooper decided to interview Kamala Harris on October 6th, 2024. The source I spoke to told me that Alix Earle's father tj, who at this point in time has taken over as her defacto manager, was completely furious that the network his daughter was contractually tied to was being used as a platform for the Democratic party.

Alix Earle and her father tj heavily pressured Alex Cooper that if she was going to interview Kamala Harris, she had to publicly extend an offer for Donald Trump to appear on call her daddy as well. And my source told me that Cooper deeply regretted even making the Trump offer feeling that it contradicted everything that she built her brand around. But ultimately Alix Earle and her dad tj, which allegedly it was mostly Alix Earle's dad through such a fit that they felt they didn't have a choice in the situation.

And this is when the relationship became extremely adversarial. - Alright, so that is the alleged political context, but now is when I need you to think back to that podcast clip with Alix Earle and her father, with her dad saying that he stepped in behind her back in October of that year. Listen to this, - The two of them had a meeting in which tj, who really is the Chris Jenner of Alix Earle, like he's a datar, if that's a word.

I just made that up. He demanded that Alix Earle be let out of the contract because she was underpaid at this point in time from when she was signed to Now she is, you know, getting paid $350,000 a post for her. It's not worth it to only be paid a million dollars a year anymore. And then Mac Kaplan actually said, no, no, no, you know, there's six months or whatever was left of the contract, she's gonna see it through, we are not releasing her.

And TJ blew up and it was allegedly borderline like an actual physical altercation, - A borderline physical altercation, Alix Earle's dad and Matt Kaplan. So these are the two men that run these two women's careers going at it. And timeline wise, this would add up because again, Alix Earle, she did that interview with her father December of 2024. Alex Cooper had Kamala Harris on her podcast on Call Her Daddy in October of 2024.

Now, before I give my thoughts, I just wanna say I know Marcos, I think his exposes are great. I've known him since the days of his OG channel be better. I literally use the honey that he and his family make, like we love his honey. Anyway, I have no idea who his sources that he has been talking to. This is not about him at all. But a lot of people in the comments and online are speculating that this source, anonymous source sounds a lot like Alex Cooper herself or somebody who might have planted this story like this is the slam dunk that she needed to bring home a win after watching the internet rip her shreds and paint her as the villain, like making Alix Earle out to be maga, which is the cardinal sin in the world of media, making her out to be greedy, specifically saying like $350,000 a post was not worth it.

That could be a death sentence for Alix Earle. And honestly, it has started to work like eight days after the internet was a hundred percent on Alix Earle's side. It has started to shift thanks to that video. Somebody commented and said, I'm always gonna be on the side of who is politically correct again. Like that's why this came out, that's why this information was released. Somebody else said, girl, at this point, Alex Cooper won LMAO.

Another person said, imagine saying 350 K isn't enough for one effing post. Now yes, that is an insane amount of money. Like I cannot imagine that amount of money for one post. But I do wanna play devil's advocate here and put that number in perspective of Cooper's $125 million deal that she allegedly got in the bag thanks to having Alix Earle sign to her network. Like she allegedly, allegedly would not have gotten all of that money or that deal without Alix Earle.

And thanks to Alix Earle's TikTok and everything she was doing over there, not thanks to the podcast, which again, like nobody was watching, it was not a success. But thanks to everything that she was doing in her own career, she became a legit a-list celebrity over the course of that one year that she was with the Unwell Network, like her value from when she signed in 2023 to when she left in 20 24, 20 25, it had dramatically shifted.

And so her dad, who is a businessman, a finance bro, he was probably just looking out for her, wanted her to have a bigger piece of the pie that she allegedly gave to Alex Hoop, like allowed Alex Cooper to win. Like in his mind, I'm sure he thought, you know, if you're going to bust your butt for somebody, if they're gonna profit off of your image and your audience and you just get a tiny sliver, again, it's not a tiny sliver, but like in comparison to how much money she was breaking in, it makes sense that her dad would wanna challenge the network, you know, have her get more money or let her be free to go do other things where she could profit even more.

That makes sense from a business perspective, it makes sense that her dad as her protector and business manager would want to fight for that. So anyway, back to the point, Alex Cooper seems to be leaning into this narrative more and more. She even pinned a specific post at the top of her TikTok page. It was making snide remarks at mag. Now this was a post that she had made months and months ago, way back in 2025, and it just randomly ended up pinned at the top of her page this week.

So again, I am not confirming or denying that this is what it is actually about, but what I am saying is Alex Cooper is in fact leaning into it and that she is obviously benefiting from this narrative. And this is where finally, after we have established all of this information, I can offer the little tidbit of information that I have. And that is that I think Alex Cooper really needed that win because based on what I have heard, the journalists are circling and that a big hit piece on Alex Cooper and Unwell is slated to come out very soon.

Okay guys. Hi, this is Brett from a couple of hours in the future, I am popping back into this episode because my source was right, but I had no idea how quickly this was actually going to transpire because this article right here from Bloomberg came out just 10 minutes after I finished uploading the footage from this episode. So I wanted to jump back in here while I could. I mean, this essentially confirmed everything that my source said.

Matt and Alex Hooper really are not that great to work with. Now, some interesting tea about this article is that the author of this article in Bloomberg is Ashley Carmen. Now Ashley Carmen did my profile in Bloomberg about a year ago. I know I had a great experience with her. Like Ashley Carmen is not some salacious writer, she is not out there trying to dig up dirt. The piece that she did on me was very fair, very balanced.

I enjoyed working with her. I have watched her work, I have seen her reach out to people and you know, ask questions and try to, you know, find and dig the story. It has always been very fair. So I just wanna give that context like this from my experience, what I know is a very fair article. All right, I just wanna read you a couple of things from this piece again, like this, I just really think this is gonna tie everything together in regards to Alex's behaviour, Alex Cooper's behaviour over the last couple of months.

Alright, so in this article, Ashley is talking about the unwell, you know, monopoly, all the different things they're doing from the podcasting to the advertising network they created to the reality shows, the things that they are doing on set. So she writes at another point during the filming, according to the people familiar with events Kaplan, that is Alex Hooper's husband berated the staff on set and threatened to prevent them from ever working in Hollywood again if they messed up, resulting in a prominent long experience crew member breaking down in tears.

Crew members filed complaints through the formal onset process and eventually told leadership that they would quit if Kaplan did not behave better. Some of the internal tension is spelled out publicly in the call her daddy 2025 Hulu documentary. The production manager threatens to quit at one point in a subsequent scene. Kaplan chalks up the situation to the demanding work schedule surrounding the tour. But according to a person close to the conflict, the manager's concerns had much more to do with Kaplan disrespecting the staff by yelling and swearing at them.

This is Alice Cooper's husband who owns the company that owns Unwell. This is the man running her business. Ashley goes on and says, the documentary also captured a frenzied environment As the company rushed to put together a live show in the past year, several high level executives have left unwell, including the company's head of brand marketing head of the network. Its second in three years and Chief Growth Officer Cooper has said that unwell employees around a hundred people on LinkedIn, at least 20 of marked themselves as leaving in 2025 and 2026.

So there's a lot more that actually covers in this article. Again, it is in Bloomberg if you wanna go read the entire thing. But the gist of it is like what I am getting from this article is that unwell network fosters an unwell work environment, a toxic work environment, and to cover their asses over the last couple of years. You know, Alex Cooper and her husband will always say things like, you know, it's a tough place to work.

You know, we work hard and we play harder. You gotta be tough enough to work at the unwell network. And you know, I, I've worked in those environments before and I just have to say like, I think it's easier to tough it out to, you know, work the long hours to deal with difficult bosses when you are working towards something good, when you have a mission that you are following and you are wanting to make the world a better place.

But like what are people fighting for at the unwell network? Like Alex Cooper who made her brand on the back of the Gluck Gluck 9,000 and going on podcasts and talking about, you know, who she was going down on on a certain day like that would not drive me to wanna work in a toxic work environment where this woman's husband was screaming and berating staff like that. That doesn't make me want to sacrifice my own wellbeing.

So no wonder there's turnover. No wonder they've lost at the head of their network three times over the past couple of years. Like again, that just does not surprise me whatsoever. And like I said at the top of the episode, this has kind of been an open secret. So I'm glad that the article is out and the people are talking about it. But when I have brought Alex Cooper and her husband up in meetings when I've talked about them, when I've talked about unwell, like I wonder how Unwell is doing, it's always kind of been like, Ooh, yeah, they are difficult to work with.

Yeah, I don't know how that's gonna go. That is a tough one. And now this article seems to just be confirming all of this. Alright, so now without further ado, now that I have caught you up on the latest, let's dive back into what I actually recorded, which was my reaction to this little tease that I got. But honestly, it really just flows perfectly now that we have actually read the article. All right, so Brett, from three hours ago, let's keep it rolling.

And interestingly, after I was given this information, many of Alex Cooper's recent posts and behaviour and press made more sense. Like, I follow Alex Cooper, I keep tabs on her. And I have noticed in the last few weeks she has been doing a tonne of press to position herself as this like empowered, progressive successful boss babe, like a beloved entrepreneur boss babe. She's leaning in, she's doing the Sheryl Sandberg.

You know, for example, she was on the cover of Fast Company, which in her words only recognises the most innovative company. So she was honoured to be included. She's been posting, you know, office tours on TikTok to show how amazing the unwell offices are, how cool and successful and fad they are. She's doing interviews talking about how there are no men at the company because obviously she's like a millennial feminist.

So she's like, we don't hire men, women are just better. Which is so ironic because her husband Matt Kaplan literally runs the company, his production company, his media company actually owns the entire company. And so I bring all of this up just to shed a light on the lengths that a company will go to to kill a hit piece, to kill an expose, to desperately protect the reputation when it seems like everything is crumbling to distract from the bad press, to distract from feuds, to put the fear of God in their employees so that they never speak out.

So that if a journalist comes up to them, their automatic reaction is no comment. Companies that you know will have people delete social media posts that make the company look bad, putting up fake employee Glassdoor reviews, leaking stories, all of this, it is just standard PR warfare that happens behind the scenes. Like I feel like this is kind of like a common thread. We watched it with the Johnny Depp trial, we, we are seeing it in action with like Lively and Justin Baldon.

It's everything that was happening for the sexual harassment allegations, all of that. And that might just be what we are watching unfold right now. And just to top it all off, to make a bad day worse for Alex Cooper, guess whose tell all book is coming out this fall? It's Alex Cooper's original co-host Sophia Franklin. Six years later, she's finally sharing all of her secrets. The book is called Daddy Issues and it is allegedly all about Alex Cooper.

So my read on this entire situation is that Alex was watching her influence, her star power, her beloved connection with her fans crumble. Her entire image has changed over the past few years. You know, she used to be somebody who would share all of the deepest, darkest, most intimate secrets of her life. She was intimately telling people about the men that she was sleeping with her dating ex paids, she very intentionally made a shift to where she became just an interviewer.

She doesn't share much about her life anymore. She's married, she's a business woman. She's tried to bring in all of these other podcasters to fill that gap that the original call her daddy left. They have not taken off like I really don't think the network is doing well at all. People, you know, hated the fact that she hosted the Miley Cyrus Hannah Montana 20th anniversary. Like people were like rioting online over the fact that she was the one interviewing Miley Cyrus.

The Tell all books are dropping in a matter of months. And Alix Earle, the biggest TikTok in the world, the biggest influencer, mega, mega star, a celebrity now was reposting Shady tiktoks. And so I think she cracked, I think she cracked and she posted that TikTok hoping that it would all work out in her favour. But then obviously Alex Earl didn't say anything. The internet turned against her even more. And so did she leak information?

Did she make up a new story? Did she make it about politics? Again, I don't know, that's just my read on the situation. And I don't know what the story is with Alex Hurl. Maybe it was about politics, which is, you know, totally fine. That's valid if you are with a company and their values shift and you no longer want to be aligned with what they represent. I think that that is totally valid. I understand that maybe it was about money, maybe it was about, you know, Alex Cooper visibly making Alix Earle uncomfortable in the interviews that they would do together as Cooper would push her to talk about her sex life, which Alix Earle really didn't wanna do.

Maybe it was something that Alex Cooper did to somebody else. And I also have no idea why she hasn't spoken out in the last eight days. I would love it if she did. I am sat and ready to go. I'm ready for the tea to be spilled. I think that she honestly wasted a lot of social media ammunition and momentum. Maybe she has a bigger plan. Maybe she's, you know, holding the story for her Netflix reality show that she's currently hosting.

I have no idea. There's a lot going on, is essentially what I'm trying to say. But my point here is that this is a way bigger story than just two blonde bitches fighting like this might be the end of Father Cooper and the Daddy gang. So stay tuned.
